POLI.design International Interdisciplinary Semester in Milan
Spending a semester in Milan — one of the world’s leading design capitals — means becoming part of a global design ecosystem where creativity, culture, and industry converge. This transdisciplinary program combines academic learning with direct exposure to the city’s vibrant design environment.
Students engage with professors from Politecnico di Milano, international professionals, and a diverse cohort of peers from around the world, building valuable connections and expanding their global perspective.
Through lectures, workshops, and visits to studios, companies, and cultural institutions, participants gain insight into the network that shapes Milan’s design culture and learn how ideas move from concept to real-world applications.
The program also develops skills often missing from traditional academic paths, such as cross-disciplinary collaboration, creative problem-solving, and working in international environments, preparing students for the global design landscape.
Semester – September 10 – December 18, 2026
BEING A DESIGNER

Through the lens of the Inner Development Goals (IDGs) framework, students explore five interconnected dimensions of growth: Being, Thinking, Relating, Collaborating, and Acting – each translated into design practice through hands-on exercises, serious games, cultural immersion, and a semester-long interdisciplinary project.
